How I added fiber without the bloating

FI

When I first tried to eat more fiber I went too fast and just felt gassy and bloated for a week. What actually worked was going slow. I added a little every few days instead of doubling overnight, and I drank a lot more water alongside it, because fiber without enough fluid can make stool firmer, not softer. I also learned the difference between soluble fiber, like oats, chia, psyllium, apples and beans, which softens things, and insoluble fiber from wheat bran and raw veggies, which adds bulk. A mix of both, plus water and a bit of daily walking, made the biggest difference for me. Everyone is different though, so if you have bleeding that does not settle or pain that keeps getting worse, please get it checked by a doctor rather than guessing. Curious what fiber sources sit best with the rest of you.

Prunes or kiwi in the morning kept me regular, and that is when the flares got less frequent.
